What Is Our History?
Corporate Insurance Brokers Pty Ltd was established in 1996 as a general insurance brokerage. It is licensed to transact all general insurance business in accordance with Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) regulations. Our licence number is 230142.
The brokerage’s director, Adrian Katschke J.P. MAICD, has been in the insurance industry since 1976 working in both the commercial and life insurance sectors. He has received many awards for business production and promotion of business growth.
Our first office opened in Ballina on the beautiful NSW north coast in 1996. A second office was then established, in Newcastle in 2003 to service the growing business sectors of Sydney and Newcastle. A third office was opened on Queensland’s Gold Coast in 2006 to service our northern clients. In practice, we arrange insurance covers Australia-wide & internationally from whichever office is most convenient for our clients.
What Do We Do?
As our name suggests, we are completely focused on the corporate sector. Firms of all sizes and across all spheres comprise our clientele. We do recognise though, that corporate Australia has a personal side so that we also provide personal service and advice to individuals and their families working in the corporate market for their household & motor vehicle needs.
What is Our Structure?
Our Queensland office, located on the beautiful Gold Coast, is our head office. The Managing Director is based here. He is a Qualified Practising Insurance Broker (QPIB) and a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Each of our three offices is staffed by qualified, professional brokers who handle all enquiries and arrange placement of insurance covers both nationally and overseas.
The brokers and advisers are very ably supported by trained and dedicated administrative personnel.
All offices are in daily contact and executives regularly exchange visits.
Our staff undergo continuous professional development and training in compliance with industry and legislative requirements to maintain service standards and keep ahead of changes in products, procedures and developments in the insurance industry so as to better serve our clients.
How Do We Transact Business?
Because we subscribe to the old fashioned values of Service, Integrity and Knowledge as the benchmark of our Business Best Practice, we are very pleased to make an appointment to come and see you at your home, office or workplace to discuss your insurance needs.
Likewise, being ever mindful of our current age of high-speed communication with its need for instant information transfers, we embrace the electronic world of data delivery for your convenience. We can arrange live, on-line, instant business coverage to maintain insurance program electronically with the push of a button.
We engage in electronic maintenance of your insurance portfolio to arrange insurance renewals, Certificates of Currency, Policy Endorsements and new Cover Confirmation as requested by your company and its financiers. We can even use snail mail if that’s your preference.

How Are We Regulated?
As a licensed general insurance broker, our responsibility is to always act in our clients’ best interests. We operate under the auspices of the Financial Services Reform Act, 2004 which is regulated by ASIC. We only deal with insurance companies which are approved by APRA, the Australian Prudential Regulatory Authority.
If we do place business with a Direct Overseas Foreign Insurer (DOFI), we will give full and transparent disclosure.
We also abide by the Insurance Brokers’ Code of Practice which provides the industry standard for transaction of brokerage business, particularly in regard to client service. A link to read or download the Code is at www.asic.gov.au and www.niba.com.au.
Where we act under a binding authority from an underwriter, we will acknowledge this fact and agree to be bound by the General Insurance Code of Practice. A link to read or download the General Insurance Code of Practice is at www.fos.org.au.
When our clients need time critical documentation as required by legislation, we will provide a Financial Services Guide (FSG) an Important Information (I.I.) notice, the insurance company’s Policy Wording/Product Disclosure Statement (PDS) and a General Advice Warning (G.A.W.) by mail, fax or email.
If we give personal advice, we will always provide a Statement of Advice, describing the reason for the insurance that has been arranged.
We also employ a dedicated Compliance Officer to ensure that we maintain the highest of service standards in accordance with our ASIC licensing and a dedicated Claims Officer to handle all client claims and liaise with Insurers to obtain rapid settlement of claims. Finally, external audits are conducted by licensed auditors to make certain that we never “drop the ball”.
Who Are Our Relations?
The short answer is: everyone in our corporate family. At Corporate Insurance Brokers, we pride ourselves on the great relationships we enjoy with our clients, staff, underwriters, broker network, service providers and the community.
We belong to the Steadfast Insurance Industry group, comprising over 270 insurance brokers, Australia-wide. The total premium managed by this group is in excess of $6 billion. One of the many benefits of membership in this powerful, influential and well-respected body are the enhanced, industry-best Policy Wordings which we can provide for our clients along with the capacity to negotiate competitive premium.
In addition, we have been members of the National Insurance Brokers Association (NIBA) for many years. This organisation provides exemplary training and up-to-date industry advice as well as acting as a powerful lobby group for enhancements to the Insurance Industry as a whole.
We are also members of the various Chambers of Commerce which each office is located to support local business and promote the success of commercial activity throughout Australia.
